igefa is a group of six family-run specialist wholesale groups across Germany, with
30 company locations
over 170,000 items in its range
a turnover of over 810 million euros
The group was founded in 1975.
At that time, the founding members of igefa had one goal: They wanted to bundle their skills and support customers over many different regions from a single source. igefa was born.
All company groups within igefa are medium-sized and family-run.
They plan for the long term, and invest and grow in a sustainable way.
Their strength - even
beyond Germany’s borders - is the high level of cooperation within the group.

As well as the efficient procurement of consumer goods, igefa customers also benefit from . administrative and organisational services
If required - for example in hospitals - we take on the in-house logistics and with the right e-business solutions, optimise order and invoice processing.
As a strong partner, igefa ensures that you, our customers, can focus more on your core business.
Corporate management with a broad perspective
All company groups within igefa have a long tradition of healthy growth.
While with stock exchange-listed major companies or investor groups, the focus is on the next annual general meeting or the price of a share, with igefa, sustainable continuation as a family-run company takes absolute priority.
The highest decision-making board at igefa consists of the owners, who are shareholders and managers from the six member groups.
At regular owner conferences, the owners make strategic and important operative decisions for the igefa group.
They elect a chairperson and at least one authorised representative, who represent igefa internally and externally, and manage the activities of the central igefa operation.
Individual representatives of the owners also constitute the igefa Sustainability Council.
The six company groups at igefa have been running a joint central operation since 2002.
Today, the central operation consists of five companies: IGEFA Handelsgesellschaft
igefa E-Business – all of which are GmbH & Co. KG companies.
Over 215 staff work here, who fulfil numerous cross-regional tasks.
igefa Zentrallogistik acts as a central federal warehouse for selected product ranges:
Peripheral assortments and sales goods in particular are stored here, and are delivered daily as required to the branch offices - in many cases also to igefa offices abroad.
In this way, products for which there is less demand are always available for all customers.
igefa ProMedical clinic supplier
Within the group,
igefa ProMedical has specialised in clinic supplies.
igefa ProMedical (IPM) takes on the entire operative supply process for medical material, business and administrative requirements in hospitals: operative purchasing
expiry date checks
monthly analyses to support controlling and accounts, and much more
If requested, delivery is always made with reference to cost centres through to the cabinet compartment of the ward in question.
OP implants are even brought directly to the operating theatre by IPM supply assistants.

Digitalisation as a strategic pillar
Due to the large number of new opportunities it offers, digitalisation is an important strategic pillar for both the INPACS and igefa.
In logistics, for example, processes are made increasingly more efficient and transparent thanks to innovative software solutions for
warehouse management, fleet control and tour planning.
igefa has agreed an IT strategy programme with a range of different projects, which is oriented at driving forward digitalisation in the company.
The most important projects include:
The establishment of a dialogue-oriented collaboration platform, which makes the software involved in parallel working among several individuals on shared projects much simpler
Introduction of a software-based ticket system for better processing of internal enquiries
Also, in 2017, two new IT companies were founded: igefa IT-Service GmbH und Co.KG is driving forward the igefa IT strategy, developing the operation of IT services and ensuring IT security.
igefa E-Business GmbH & Co. KG is sales-oriented and is further developing our e-business solutions.
