The responsible body with regard to the data protection legislation is IGEFA Handelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (below: “IGEFA”), Henry-Kruse-Str. 1, 16356 Ahrensfelde OT Blumberg, E-mail: info@igefa.de.

We wish to inform you below regarding the subject of data protection, while providing assurance that your personal data will be used solely in compliance with the legal stipulations regarding data protection.

When do we collect and process personal data?

We are aware that the careful handling of your personal data is of great importance. For this reason, we use your personal data solely for a specific purpose. In other words, we process and use personal data only for contract processing and for maintaining customer relations. Such data includes e.g. your name, address, e-mail address or telephone number, and in some cases also user data such as your IP address or additional information which you transfer to us within the scope of enquiries. The data is only stored by us for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. If trade and tax-related storage periods are required, the period for which certain data is stored may be up to 10 years. If during order processing data is transferred to a third party, this is done solely within the legally permitted framework (the German Federal Data Protection Act or other legal regulations, such as the Telemedia Act).

When visiting our website, the IP address currently used by your computer, the date and time, browser type and browser version and the operating system of your PC, as well as the pages you visit, are logged. However, this does not allow us to trace the data back to you as a natural person.

In general, it is possible to use the IGEFA websites without leaving personal data. However, it is inevitable in the following cases:

In order to be able to contact you simply and directly, we request that you tell us your e-mail address. Naturally, we will only use this for advertising purposes if we have your express permission to do so.

What does IGEFA do with your personal data?

In general IGEFA stores your personal data only for the purpose of smooth contract processing, and if necessary, will forward it to other companies solely for this purpose. In this regard, the data may be forwarded to a package delivery service or suppliers who deliver the goods to you. Data forwarded in this way may only be used by a third party for the fulfilment of their task. No further use is permitted.

In special cases, such as in connection with the risk of financial default and other justified interests, we exchange selected address and creditworthiness data for the purpose of checking creditworthiness or a credit inspection with financial information services or the “Schufa” credit investigation company. Further, we use and process your address and order data for marketing purposes within our interest group.

We provide assurance that in all other cases, we do not forward your personal data to third parties, unless we are legally required to do so, or if you have given your express approval in advance.

You naturally have the option of withdrawing your permission to use, process and forward your personal data for marketing purposes at any time. Simply send us a message to this effect, e.g. by e-mail, to info@igefa.de, by post to IGEFA Handelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, Henry-Kruse-Strasse 1, 16356 Ahrensfelde, or send a fax to 0 33 39-45 12 10.

How do we protect your data?

As soon as you register on our website, in order to place an order, for example, your personal data is forwarded to us. This transfer mechanism is protected by the standard technical procedures. Depending on your browser, you can see that data is being transferred in an encrypted manner by means of a separate image (e.g. a closed padlock symbol).

Additionally, IGEFA uses other security measures to protect your data. For example, access to your area on the website is only possible when a username and password is entered.

What are cookies, and are cookies used?

Cookies are pieces of information which are sent by a web server to a browser, which are in turn returned by the browser when the same web server is accessed later. Cookies are small bits of data which the browser stores on the hard drive at the request of a web server. They contain data with which the server can recognise the user the next time they visit. IGEFA also uses cookies in order to e.g. make it easier for you to shop in the e-shop.
However, no personal data is stored in these cookies. You can create the settings for cookies in your browser individually. In this way, using the instructions given in the Help function of your browser software, you can make settings that prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, switch off all stored cookies, and set up a notification function when you receive a new cookie.
