Many igefa suppliers have developed solution-oriented and sustainable services which also benefit igefa customers. Just like the glove manufacturer W+R. With its full-rental supply programme for premium cut-resistant gloves, the company offers industrial customers a cost-effective and eco-friendly solution by extending the life cycle: the gloves are cleaned after use. Disposable material becomes a reusable PSA article. The gloves can be used five to ten times more frequently by cleaning. Customers who take advantage of this system naturally order correspondingly a smaller number of new goods.
Increasing demand for eco-friendly solutions
According to W+R, the full-rental supply programme is no longer a niche business. The manufacturer now cleans around 4.5 million pairs of work gloves a year. And the demand for this innovative concept is growing continuously.
Cleaning systems operate in a closed cycle
The gloves are cleaned mechanically with perchloroethylene. Solvent residues are disposed of by approved waste management companies. The solvent and oily liquids are distilled and separated several times in our own sludge cookers in order to keep the consumption of solvents and thus the degree of disposal as low as possible. Non-reusable oil-contaminated reusable gloves are only disposed of properly after cleaning. This system allows an all-round closed cycle with sustainable effects for the environment.
